How long does the course take to complete?
It depends on which program. The mental health practitioner course runs to about eight hours of coursework across five modules; the primary care courses (GP, Nurses, Pharmacists) are roughly one hour each and built for completion in a single sitting.
Which course should I take?
If you provide ongoing therapy to men — psychologist, counsellor, psychiatrist, social worker — take MiM for Mental Health Practitioners. If you see men in primary care, choose the program that matches your discipline (GP, Nurses, or Pharmacists). You're welcome to enrol in more than one.
What resources are included in the training?
Each module pairs short, scripted video lessons with reflective exercises and downloadable worksheets you can take into the consult room.
How long will I have access to the course for?
12 months from enrolment. You can return as often as you like and re-download resources at any time.
How many CPD points will I be eligible for?
The mental health practitioner course is APS-endorsed for 8 CPD hours. Primary care courses are endorsed for 1 CPD hour each. Check your professional body for specific accreditation.
Is the course based on research and evidence?
Yes. Men in Mind is built on the Movember Institute of Men's Health research program and reviewed by clinical advisors at the University of Melbourne and Orygen.
I don't work in Australia — is this course for me?
The content is internationally applicable. CPD recognition varies — please check with your local professional body.
What's Movember's connection to the course?
Men in Mind and the research behind it have been funded by Movember. The professional training program is aligned with Movember's key cause area of men's mental health and suicide.
